Susan, who is the wife to Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero, will oversee the operations of the Foundation across North, West, Central, East and Southern Africa.
She is currently Coca-Cola’s Group Director for Women’s Economic Empowerment for Eurasia & Africa.
In her new role she will also lead strategy development and implementation for TCCAF and continue to oversee the rollout of the Company’s 5By20 program launched in 2010, which aims to enable the economic empowerment of five million women in the Coca-Cola value chain by 2020.
Coca-Cola’s Director for Strategy and Sustainability for Eurasia & Africa Group Bill Egbe said Susan will partner with local and international leaders among them Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), government agencies and women empowerment and community development organisations.
“As we seek to scale up our investment in corporate social programmes in the areas of entrepreneurship, water, health and education, we are confident that with the rich and diverse experience that she brings to this expanded role Mboya-Kidero will be very successful,” Egbe, who was previously the Coca-Cola Division President in the Nairobi regional office said in a statement on Thursday.
Susan joined The Coca-Cola Company in September 2008 as General Manager of the South Africa Franchise and Coca-Cola Canners South Africa.
In 2011 she moved into her current role as EAG’s Group Director for Women’s Economic Empowerment (5By20).
In this role, she led the group’s efforts to contribute effectively toward the Company’s global commitment to empower five million women entrepreneurs across the Coca-Cola value chain by 2020.
“I am delighted to be taking up this new role, and look forward to contributing towards bettering the lives of the hundreds of millions of Africans who today require the assistance of corporate to not only run successful enterprises, but secure proper sanitation, education and healthcare for their families and communities,” she said.
