KAA officials say that both domestic and international departure and arrival functions are going on well.
President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to tour the airport on Friday afternoon to assess the situation.
In the meantime airport users have been reminded that domestic departures and arrivals are at Kenya Airways Cargo Building at JKIA Cargo Area.
Travellers have also been advised to confirm their flight with the respective airline they are scheduled to travel with.
On Thursday afternoon, Transport and Infrastructure Secretary Michael Kamau said that the airport was working at a 35 percent capacity and only a few flights from Kenya Airways had landed in the morning following the fire on Wednesday.
South African Airways were also expected to resume their flight operations on Friday with two flights out of Nairobi.
The National Security Council chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta met on Wednesday night to review the JKIA situation as probe into the cause of the huge fire continued.
Other members of the council include Deputy President William Ruto, Cabinet Secretaries in charge of Internal Security, Defence and Foreign Affairs.
Chief of Defence Forces, Inspector General of Police, National Intelligence Service Director General, the Attorney General and Secretary to the Cabinet are also members of the council.
