The Kenya Red Cross said on its Twitter handle said the attack occurred in Galmagala, in Garissa County.

“Attack in #Galmagala Fafi District; four feared fatalities. @Ems_Kenya evacuating one critical gunshot victim to Garissa,” revealed Red Cross.
The organisation also said that hundreds of people had fled the area overnight fearing an escalated attack.
On May 19, unknown gunmen shot dead an officer with a paramilitary security unit in northeastern Kenya.
“These are people who knew him very well and decided to trail him. Our preliminary investigations show that the attackers committed the act from inside a taxi before speeding off,” local police chief James Mutungi told AFP at the time.
And then on April 18, gunmen in the volatile eastern Kenya town of Garissa shot and killed at least 10 people while five others were seriously wounded.
“The death toll has now reached ten people. Some others died in hospital while undergoing treatment,” a police officer told AFP.
In January, four people were reported killed and six seriously wounded when gunmen attacked another hotel in the town.
The government has had to tighten security in all the areas in the country but particularly those bordering Somalia, since the country’s 2011 offensive to weed out the suspected militants.
But even then, the sporadic attacks by suspected members of the Al Shabaab in Kenya continue.
