NAIROBI, Kenya Jul 4 – The wife of former Cabinet Minister Raphael Tuju was picked up for questioning on Thursday over the death of her lover Tony Ogunda.

Ruth Akinyi was picked up at about 2pm by detectives investigating the mysterious death that occurred on Monday night.

After questioning, Akinyi left the Kilimani Police Station in the company of two female friends and at 5pm.

She did not comment on what the police asked her.

“It went well… they (the investigators) were very nice to me,” she told journalists before driving off.

A police officer involved in the investigation has told Capital FM News that they are also questioning the late Tony’s friend Cosmas Opondo in whose house the deceased was found.

A post-mortem showed that Ogunda died of internal head injuries caused by a blunt object or force.

George Otieno, a close friend of Ogunda revealed the deceased had a premonition about his death and had been talking about it.

Ogunda whose body was found in a house along Matumbatu Road in Upper Hill died out of head injuries caused by a blunt object.

The post-mortem conducted on Wednesday revealed he had internal bleeding to his brain.

Ogunda’s body was found lying on the sofa set at Okoth’s house on Monday morning. The house belongs to Tuju.
