LONDON, Jul 22 – Kate Middleton, who is pregnant with her first child who will be third in line to the British throne, went into labour on Monday, Kensington Palace said.
The Duchess of Cambridge travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the private Lindo wing of St Mary’s Hospital in London with her husband, Prince William, Clarence House said in a tweet.
“The notification has gone out that she is in the early stages of labour after being admitted to the Lindo wing at about 6am (0500 GMT) this morning,” a spokeswoman said.
According to the palace, the next statement will be issued when the baby is born.
The world’s press has camped outside the hospital for the last three weeks.
