NAIROBI, Kenya May 25 – Police have arrested a suspected carjacker after vandalized vehicles suspected to have been stolen were found at his compound in Limuru.

Police Operations Manager Joseph Mambo told Capital FM News that the man was arrested on Saturday morning in his home after being trailed for some time.

“The flying squad was briefed of a carjacking incident in Umoja at around 2.30am this morning and after trailing him, they found the man in his house at around 5am this morning,” he explained.

Mambo said that the vehicles that included a Prado, Land Cruiser, a Toyota Premier, and a Nissan Sunny were stolen from Umoja area.

“We have also recovered eight different number plates, 21 ignition switches and a number of body parts,” he revealed.

Mambo said that the suspect has been terrorising Umoja area motorists.

This comes just three weeks after police found vandalized vehicles in a suspected carjacker’s home in Ongata Rongai suspected to have been stolen.

The police launched a manhunt for the suspected gangster and detained the man’s wife to assist in investigations.
