NAIROBI Kenya, March 31- The social media has been awash with mixed reactions on the Supreme Court decision that upheld the declaration of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission on Uhuru Kenyatta as the president-elect.

The reactions followed a message Kenyatta posted on his face book and twitter pages saying “Thank You Kenya. Thank You Kenya. Thank You Kenya. My pledge to you is that I will deliver.”

It was the first message Kenyatta posted since March 29 when he had wished Kenyans a happy Easter.

” Yes Mr. President, we will help you deliver one nation, one people,” Vincent Ogola replied on face book.

And there were interesting postings by fans like Henry Maina who posted saying “Welcome 2 TNA service, you are now on UHURU tariff, your current balance is 10 years. Thanks for choosing Jubilee, My DNA is TNA for a better Kenya.”

Another fan, Otieno Erick said “Congrats Mheshimiwa, I believe and have confident in you. Let Kenya move and give attention to people with special need.”

Others took the chance to urge the president-elect to work for all and to deliver his promises to all Kenyans, while urging him to be “a president for all Kenyans.”

“Thank you your Excellency!! Be a president to all, may u not favour your supporters. Unite all Kenyans especially the tribes that have grudges among themselves, Now, my niece has told me to remind you of the milk and laptop you promised her,” Evans Omondi wrote on his page.

Those who never voted for him called upon Kenyans to embrace the president so as to keep the country “moving forward.”

“Thanks Mr president, I never voted for you but am confident that you will deliver for Kenyans,” Wycliffe Onyango wrote.

“If you cannot beat them, you join them. Let Kenya remain united, as your slogan was….I BELIEVE I also believe that u can deliver, we know what Raila [Odinga] has done to this nation, my plea is you to set date in Kenyans calendar to celebrate his life,” Kevin Owitch said in his request to the president elect.

The president-elect was urged to work for all Kenyans and form an all inclusive government.

In his speech after the court decision, Kenyatta said he will form an inclusive government and extended an olive branch to all his competitors.

“I want to assure all Kenyans, including those who did not vote for the Jubilee Coalition, and indeed even those who challenged the validity of my election, that my government will work with, and serve all Kenyans without any discrimination whatsoever. I assure Kenyans that our government will be as inclusive as possible and will reflect the face of our great country,” Kenyatta said.

Kenyatta is set to be sworn in as the fourth president of Kenya on April 9.
