Speaking after casting his vote at Kosache Primary School in Turbo Constituency, Uasin Gishu County, Ruto said MRC should not be allowed to stop people from participating in the ongoing election.
“I want to ask citizens to be calm and to shame the people who think that they can stop us from discharging our constitutional responsibility and go ahead and vote,” he asserted.
Ruto said MRC should not be allowed to continue displaying their ruthlessness especially now when Kenyans are voting under the new Constitution.
He urged people in the affected region not to be cowed by their actions and ensure they play their part by casting their vote.
“The MRC has been a menace in our country. They represent everything that is not right. Whatever the grievances they have they cannot be sorted out in the manner in which they are going about it,” he said.
Ruto who cast his vote at 7.30am, once again expressed confidence that the Jubilee Alliance will emerge victorious.
He said he was confident that Kenyans will vote for Kenyatta as the next president.
The former Eldoret North legislator also called for peace as he urged Jubilee supporters to accept the outcome of the results saying the leadership will be the first to do so.
He further appealed to their competitors to accept the outcome of the results to ensure the country is peaceful.
Uasin Gishu County has about 350,000 registered voters.
