NAIROBI, Kenya Mar 1 – Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) deputy presidential candidate Kalonzo Musyoka is up in arms after he was included the Wiper party nomination list.

Musyoka’s press secretary Kaplich Barsito said the vice-president had previously instructed Wiper party organs to ensure that the final list of nominees to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) should not contain his name.

Media reports had indicated that Musyoka, who is Raila Odinga’s presidential running mate, is listed number one in the Wiper party nominees for the National Assembly seats.

Barsito said during the compilation of party nomination lists to the IEBC, the party inadvertently included his name, but Secretary General Mutula Kilonzo wrote to the IEBC to use the revised list.

Others listed for parliamentary nominations are Bishop Robert Mutemi, Hellen Ndeti, Gideon Ndambuki and Sammy Mbova among others.

To the Senate, Wiper has proposed Nyiva Mwendwa, Judy Achieng, Shakila Abdallah and Alice Maitha.

United Democratic Forum’s, presidential candidate Musalia Mudavadi and his running mate Jeremiah Kioni were caught up in a similar dilemma which forced Mudavadi to intervene and order his name and Kioni’s be dropped from the party’s list of nominees to Parliament.

Instead, the party has listed its chairman Hassan Aden among those seconded to benefit from nomination.

For the Senate, UDF has proposed Martha Wangari, Naisae Karia and Nancy Gachoka for nomination.
