The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) presidential candidate Raila Odinga was on Monday campaigning in Nairobi to consolidate his support.
“The PM and the co-Cord principals, Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and Trade Minister Moses Wetangula, will make an extensive tour of the city to bolster the support he (Mr Odinga) enjoys amongst the Nairobi residents,” CORD’s campaign Manager Eliud Owalo said.
The PM was expected to hold campaign meetings at Kencom bus stage, before heading to Eastleigh for various stopovers.
Odinga will be accompanied by his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka and coalition partner Moses Wetangula.
The trio will then head to Turkana on Tuesday where they will campaign separately before converging for a rally later in the day.
He will be accompanied by his Co-Principals Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and Trade Minister Moses Wetangula, in the campaign blitz.
The CORD principles are expected to campaign in Pokot on Wednesday.
The team spent the entire weekend campaigning, in Rift Valley which is considered a Jubilee stronghold where they appealed to the electorate to vote for the alliance in the March 4 election which is two weeks away.
Odinga exuded confidence that he would receive major support from the area as he did in 2007 despite it being perceived as a United Republican Party (URP) stronghold.
“We have over ninety percent support in Coast, Lower Eastern, Nyanza and Western regions,” he added.
Musyoka sought to assure area residents that a CORD government would ensure their interests and those of their children are adequately catered for.
”I have committed myself fully to making sure the Constitution is fully implemented so the rights of Kenyans from all the 42 tribes are protected.”
“We will train unemployed Kenyan youth on entrepreneurship and award them grants for their start-ups,” Musyoka said.
