NAIROBI, Kenya Feb 21 – Seven people were shot dead by gunmen believed to be Al Shabaab militants in Liboi on Thursday morning.
Two of them are women who were attacked after they responded to screams at a mosque in Maleley near the Kenya-Somalia border.
“People were going for prayers when the attack occurred… seven are dead,” Garissa County Commissioner Maalim Mohammed. “It is unfortunate that the attackers could not even spare women responding to cries from the mosque.”
An investigation into the attack has been launched. “Police are in hot pursuit for the killers.”
