Prime Minister Raila Odinga was in Homa Bay County and Siaya while the Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka travelled to Elgeyo Marakwet and Baringo Counties to seek votes.
Speaking at the Iten stadium, Musyoka assured residents that the CORD government will transform the agricultural sector to make it economically viable and contribute to the national economic growth.
Musyoka pledged that a CORD government would ensure adequate and affordable farm inputs to boost agricultural production and guarantee food security.
The VP asked the residents not to be swayed by what he called empty promises made by CORD rivals. He insisted that the coalition’s manifesto was the only one outlining attainable development programmes.
He commended Barack Obama for assuring that the United States would not interfere with Kenya’s internal affairs, particularly in the forthcoming election.
Musyoka pledged that the CORD government will return ownership of the Kenya Cooperative Creameries to farmers to run and fully benefit from the sales of their milk.
While in Kabarnet town, Musyoka spoke against negative ethnicity and said CORD will unite all Kenyans irrespective of their tribe, religion or any social background.
He again cautioned the public against voting on tribal lines but to elect credible leaders whose capability and integrity is beyond reproach.
Meanwhile the Jubilee Coalition team led by its presidential candidate Uhuru Kenyatta which started its campaign tour in Turkana County has called for peace in the region.
Kenyatta who addressed rallies in Turkwel Lokori, Katilu, Kaikor says that the Jubilee coalition will form an inclusive government for all Kenyans.
“Other people will come but to incite you; to tell you that you are in a tribal party but ours is a party that has united everybody. Kenyans are more educated now and will shun them. We want to ensure that we have a government that addresses concerns of everybody,” he declared.
Restore and Build Kenya (RBK) presidential candidate James ole Kiyiapi who was in Machakos County dismissed claims by some of his opponents who have termed the March 4 election as a two horse race.
Kiyiapi says that he was also up to the task and ready to battle it out with the rest.
“I want to tell you Kenyans that there is nothing like two horses or alliances; there are eight presidential candidates on the ballot and I am ready and up to task to battle it out with the rest come March 4,” he said.
He maintained that Kenyans have the best opportunity to change the country this coming election by ushering new credible and loyal leaders who are to take this country to the next level.
Kiyiapi promised to unite all Kenyans, improve education and health standards and declare youth unemployment a national disaster.
“We want serious leaders who care about the people of Kenya and therefore do not re-elect those leaders with bad records,” said Kiyiapi.
