Speaking at the party headquarters, party Chairman Johnson Sakaja said that action will be taken against such candidates and verdict can include disqualification from the party.
“As a party, we stand for unity and any action by a party member that goes against the policy of the party shall not be tolerated. We have set a disputes tribunal that will handle cases emerging from the primaries,” Sakaja said.
He added that the will of the voters must and will be respected and that no aspirants will get a direct certificate unless those that are unopposed.
The party headquarters will be the tallying center where results will be sent from the ground by returning officers for verification.
Commenting on the preparations, Director of Communications Machel Waikenda said that the results will be relayed live to allow transparency as aspirants will be allowed into the tallying center.
“We will allow our aspirants into the center to watch the results as they stream in. We will have screens in and outside our headquarters so that the public can watch.”
TNA also reaffirmed its commitment to a peaceful election.
