NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 30 – Prime Minister Raila Odinga of the Coalition for Reform and Democracy and his rival Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta of the Jubilee Coalition were expected to present their papers to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Wednesday morning.
The two were scheduled to present their papers to the IEBC at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre.
Other presidential candidates who were also due to present their papers are Paul Muite of Safina and Mohammed Abduba Dida of the Alliance for Real Change.
Odinga who is running for the presidency for the third time is thereafter expected to head to Uhuru Park with his running mate Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka for the official launch of their campaign.
Kenyatta who is for the second time running for the presidency will hold campaign road shows in Githurai, Zimmerman, Kahawa West, Marurui and Roysambu.
On Tuesday, the IEBC cleared four other candidates; Martha Karua of NARC Kenya, Peter Kenneth of the Kenya National Congress, James ole Kiyiapi of the Restore and Build Kenya party and Musalia Mudavadi of the United Democratic Forum.
