Addressing party aspirants at the Wiper party headquarters, Musyoka cited logistical and technical problems as some of the major challenges that hindered the management of successful party primaries.
The vice president urged those who were dissatisfied with the nominations to channel their complaints through their respective party appeal boards.
“All political parties will agree with me that going forward, we will have to have better ways of nominations and my observation is that they be IEBC-led because the polls body is the only institution that has the wherewithal to conduct the exercise,” Musyoka said.
Musyoka promised that the party’s appeals board comprising retired Justice Kasanga Mulwa, Judy Sijeni and lawyer John Katuku will adjudicate the grievances before Monday’s deadline for submitting final party lists.
The VP also received Former Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) vice chairman Hassan Omar and Mombasa businessman Suleiman Shabbal, who are vying for the senate and governor seats in Mombasa County respectively to the Wiper party.
He said CORD Alliance principals will be traversing troubled areas beginning with Ukambani region to thaw tensions with supporters who have threatened to boycott elections citing flawed primaries.
CORD leaders will be in Athi River and later address a rally in Machakos town on Sunday.
On Monday, the team will tour Mutomo, Kabati and address a rally in Kitui town.
The leaders will also tour Kibwezi, Kambu and Emali and hold a rally at Wote in Makueni County on Tuesday.
