The three who met at a city Hotel on Thursday morning said that they want to provide Kenya with the third option apart from that of the Jubilee coalition and the Coalition for Reform and Democracy (CORD).
Wamalwa who briefed journalists after the meeting said that they will also embark on joint campaigns although they are yet to declare who their flag bearer would be.
“We are discussing, we are looking for ways and means of ensuring that Kenyans have a better option when election time comes. You will be seeing us together more as we go round the country speaking to Kenyans about a better and more united Kenya,” Wamalwa said.
Kenneth said that although they are members of different pre election pacts, they want to make a coalition that will inspire the Kenyan people liberate themselves from “historical bondage”
“Of late there have been coalitions formed, we have had our coalition and Wamalwa has his, but we want coalitions that give hope and not those that are about collusion, collision and lately coercion,” he said.
“This is a country of mostly young people and therefore we must look into new things and better options than what is currently available,” Kenneth added.
On December 4, Kenneth of the Kenya National Congress (KNC) party signed a pact with Tuju of the Party of Action (POA) both insisting the union was built on shared values that will provide Kenyans the best choice for the presidency.
Wamalwa of New Ford Kenya on his part signed a deal with the New Vision Party and the Federal Party of Kenya.
The coalition, they said, was formed because Kenya needs restoration of fairness and creativity in economic ideas adding that the Constitution does not stop conflict.
Wamalwa who had previously said that he was willing to support Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi if he won the ticket of the Jubilee coalition said that the offer is now invalidated by the ongoing nomination row pitting Mudavadi and TNA’s Uhuru Kenyatta.
“You know very well that the Jubilee coalition has their own problems, we wish them well. It matters not who the next president will be, but it matters that the election and transition are peaceful,” explained Wamalwa.
Wamalwa, Kenneth and Tuju are expected to embark on a joint campaign trail on Friday with a rally in Bungoma; they are again expected to hold another rally in Nairobi on Saturday as Mudavadi, Kenyatta, William Ruto and Charity Ngilu takes their rallies to Nyeri.
