This is after consultations and agreement with the Kenya Airways management on the dispute on interpretation of some operating procedures that led to the withdrawal of the goodwill.

“With the goodwill reinstated by KALPA, we are now working expeditiously to ensure normal services resume and expect all scheduled flights today to be crewed for operations,” noted Kenya Airways Chief Executive Officer Titus Naikuni.
“The Management of Kenya Airways therefore wishes to reassure our customers, stakeholders and the public at large that the airline is working to ensure that normal operations resumes immediately and sincerely apologize to all the affected passengers,” Naikuni added.
KALPA members on their part have also confirmed the reinstatement of the goodwill, but refuted some reports by a section of the media that they had disagreed with KQ management due to salary hikes and condemning the recent staff retrenchment.
“KALPA Collective Bargain Agreement (CBA) is registered with the Industrial Court and is valid up to March 31 2014. The withdrawal of the goodwill was due to longstanding unresolved issues between KALPA and KQ management and not due to a demand in increase of pay as had been wrongly reported,” KALPA Secretary General, Captain Ronald Kararuri told Capital News.
A spot check at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Sunday revealed that most of the passengers had not experienced any cancellations or delays and were hoping to have the flights run as earlier scheduled.
“As of now I don’t know if my flight will be delayed. I am on my way to Kampala to represent Kenya on the Uganda National Prayer Breakfast tomorrow morning and so far nobody has called me to tell me that my flight is delayed or cancelled. I hope to catch my flight normal time, 12:55pm,”said Karachuonyo MP James Rege.
“We are here to escort our sister, she is going to India, and her flight is at 2:30pm. We have not heard about that.” said a woman who wanted to remain anonymous.
