The victim who works at the Nyahururu municipal council is said to have had a domestic row with the wife on Tuesday afternoon before the matter got out of hand and she attacked him with a knife.
It was reported that the wife was protesting her husband’s wayward ways of excessive and uncontrolled consumption of liquor while their family was experiencing economic hardships.
Sources at the council said the man sought treatment at a private clinic within Nyahururu town but opted to remain silent with the assault incident remaining unreported to the police.
The man was taken to hospital by his close friends but he insisted that the matter must remain under wraps as he did not wish the police to be informed and his wife arrested.
