Waititu’s case will be a lesson for many – AG

“Can the AG indicate to us why the government which is so unhappy in such strong terms is taking this long to apply Chapter 6 (of the Constitution) that provides for a public officer to behave in a manner that will bring honour to office he/she holds,” wondered Khalwale.

“There is one thing that government can do without recourse to court; announcing during the one o’clock bulletin (on the national broadcaster) that the minister has been relieved of his duties… it’s along time since we have heard of this,” said Ruto

“This might send a serious message that the government on its own is taking serious disciplinary action on ministers who can make statement where we lose lives,” he added.

Imenti Central MP Gitobu Imanyara also sought to know how Waititu dodged the police on his way out of Parliament.

Imanyara said the lawmaker could only have made it out of the precincts of the House with the collusion of his colleagues, the police or parliamentary staff.

Trouble in Kayole started when guards attacked and killed a street boy accused of stealing chicken in the estate.
