LOS ANGELES, Sep 27 – Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson and Usher are lending their voices to a one-hour US television special honouring Whitney Houston, who died in February at the age of 48, organizers said on Thursday.

In a statement, the Recording Academy said “We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute To Whitney Houston” will be recorded at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on October 11 – eight months to the day after she was found dead in a bathtub in a Los Angeles hotel.

It will be telecast on CBS in the United States on November 16. No details were given about international broadcasts.

Besides musical homages to Houston, the show will include “never-before-seen footage and exclusive interviews” featuring the six-time Grammy winner whose string of hits included “I Will Always Love You” in 1992.

Houston was found submerged in a bathtub at the Beverley Hills Hilton on the eve of this year’s Grammy awards, which are administered by the Recording Academy.

Coroners ruled that she had drowned accidentally after taking cocaine which could have triggered a heart attack. She was buried a week after her death in her native New Jersey.
