Earlier, Keino’s boyfriend Ronald Kemboi told Principal Magistrate Peter Ndwiga that Keino had informed him that she was going to pick her clothes from her friend’s place at 6pm.
At 8pm in the evening, she sent him a text message informing him that she had gone to a party with her friend Scolastica Kamemba who testified before the inquiry on Monday.
Kemboi said Kamemba called him at 3.30am informing him that Keino was very drunk, had become violent and ran off. The following day after she failed to show up, Kamemba and Kemboi went to Wasini Luxury Homes to ask for her whereabouts but failed to get any information about her disappearance.
Keino’s body was found on Waiyaki Way last June. According to witnesses from the Wasini Luxury Homes and Scolastica, Juja MP William Kabogo was seen slapping Mercy at the private apartment before she met her death.
Meanwhile, the inquiry has adjourned to early December as the prosecuting counsel will be away on official duties in Japan. On resumption, he is expected to arraign over 50 other witnesses who include parties mentioned such as Kabogo and his bodyguards.
