NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 13- Miguna Miguna, the controversial former advisor to Prime Minister Raila Odinga is set to return to Kenya on Thursday after a one-month stay in Canada.
Miguna who left Kenya last month immediately after the launch of his controversial book ‘Peeling Back the Mask’ said he had a refreshing and productive vacation with his family.
“In view of the malicious report when I travelled to Canada on July 16th, 2012 that I had fled into exile (as if I needed anyone’s permission or had to give anyone prior notice to travel outside the country), I wish to announce that my return flight is scheduled to land at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on August 16th, 2012 at about 8pm,” he revealed.
He said upon his return, he would address the press and deal with some of the issues that had been raised about him during his absence.
Miguna said he would also embark on tours to the 47 counties to popularise his book and engage Kenyans on key issues like unemployment, tribalism, corruption, nepotism and the re-emergence of intolerance in Kenya.
“As a country, we must ensure that the Constitution is adhered to in letter and spirit by everyone – leaders and ordinary citizens alike,” he stated.
Miguna launched his sensational book mid last month after which he gave wide ranging interviews in which he made grave allegations against the Prime Minister, Raila Odinga and his close associates.
During the launch of his book, he said: “Every single leader here, I can take to The Hague. I have it right here. And I am saying come baby come… when I decide in a 500-page book not to say what the Orange Democratic Movement did in the PEV (post election violence), they should take me, kneel before me and kiss my feet. That is how angry I am when I see some people running around like idiots.
However the premier said he would not take any legal action against his ex- advisor.
