Ojode will be remembered for his humorous responses in Parliament/FILE
Ojode and his boss, Internal Security Minister George Saitoti who was also killed in Sunday morning’s crash, were a good example of teamwork in the coalition government, despite coming from rival parties.
Ojode convincingly represented Saitoti in Parliament especially on security concerns that have been a thorny issue in the country.
Despite the seriousness of matters in Parliament, Ojode’s answers usually left his colleagues in Parliament in laughter.
He will also be remembered for assuring Kenyans of security despite frequent attacks linked to terrorists.

One of his most recent comments on assurances of security came after the terror attack at Assanad’s House on Moi Avenue last month.
On May 11, 2009 Ojode survived a police chopper crash in Kapsabet Township.
The 54-year old lawmaker joined parliament in 1994 after he successfully won the Ndhiwa Parliamentary seat.
He became Assistant Minister for Higher Education, Science and Technology from 2000-2003.
Between 2003 and 2005 he was appointed an Assistant Minster for Lands and Settlement before being moved to Foreign Affairs for one year.
In 2008 he was moved to Saitoti’s docket as an assistant minister.
Like his boss, Ojode will be remembered for his active role in the ‘Operation Linda Nchi’ that moved to contain the Al Shabaab militia which has seriously threatened Kenyan security.
