NAIROBI, Kenya, May 9 – One of the directors of Club Click on Nairobi’s Baricho road, Jackson Maina Wangui, and a bouncer have been arraigned in court over the murder of a patron.

Maina and Joseph Kirero Sepi appeared at the Milimani Law Court’s but were not required to plead to the murder charges, since police are yet to complete their investigations.

According to the prosecutor, police are also yet to identify the victim.

They want time to be allowed to take fingerprints of the deceased in order to identify him.

The court ruled that the two will answer to the charges next Tuesday and ordered that they be remanded at the Industrial Area remand prison.

On Tuesday morning Maina – who is popularly known to his friends as Jack Rousse – was taken to the club in handcuffs to recount to police officers what happened the previous night leading to the fatal shooting.

Area divisional police Chief Thomas Atuti said the club director and the bouncer told them the commotion started in the bar on the 2nd floor before they took the reveller to the rooftop on the 4th floor where the shooting occurred.

The Club is known for hosting a reggae theme on Mondays.

Police took the bar owner to court to beat a constitutional provision that requires suspects to be arraigned in court within 24 hours of arrest.

They two are being represented by lawyer Timothy Mukeu.
