ACCRA, Apr 24 – A six-member Chinese delegation from Ningxia State Farm Administration will be in Ghana on Thursday to explore investment potentials in Volta Region under the Volta-Ningxia Sister-Relationship program.

The delegation from the agriculture sector known as Ningxia Nongken Industry Company will use the period to form partnerships with indigenous business persons in developing sustainable and viable projects, according to a statement issued by the Volta Region Development Agency (VORDA) here on Monday.

Under the initiative of Togbe Afede XIV, president of Volta Region House of Chiefs and VORDA, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a sister relationship was signed during a visit of a delegation from the region to Ningxia, China, in September last year with the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of China.

The two regions subsequently signed the protocols and final agreement in Ghana in December last year.

“It is now followed up by the visit of two delegations on Health and Agriculture sectors from Ningxia to Ghana, Volta Region, within the next seven days,” the statement added.

The agreement between the two regions prescribes that both carry out exchanges and cooperate in the areas of economy, trade, agriculture, fishery industry, mining industry, Chinese traditional medicine, tourism, science and technology and health to promote common prosperity and development.

It also stated that there would be regular contacts between the leaders and relevant departments of the two sides to facilitate consultations on the exchanges and cooperation as well as matters of common concern.
