COLUMBUS, Ohio, Mar 6 – Polls opened in the US battleground state of Ohio on “Super Tuesday”, an Ohio official said, as 10 states were set to vote on the biggest day yet in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

Frontrunner Mitt Romney hoped to keep momentum on his side and deliver a major blow to chief rival Rick Santorum as the two candidates waged a closely fought battle over Ohio, seen as the biggest prize of the day.
