KIEV, Jan 25 – The eldest son of French President Nicolas Sarkozy has been hospitalised in the Ukrainian resort city of Odessa with apparent food poisoning, a security source told AFP Wednesday.

Pierre Sarkozy, a 26-year-old hip-hop producer also known as DJ Mosey, was scheduled to perform in a local night club but was hospitalised with a sudden illness, local website wrote Wednesday.

“That information is correct,” a Ukrainian security source confirmed to AFP on condition of anonymity. “It looks like food poisoning.”

The website said that a team of French doctors had flown to the Black Sea port to help the French leader’s son, who will be transported back to France on a special plane.

The French embassy in Ukraine declined to comment when contacted by AFP, saying Sarkozy was in Odessa on a “private visit”.
