Auctioneers called in to JAB Orengo law firm

NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 25 – A law firm associated with a Cabinet Minister was nearly evicted from a building in Nairobi’s Central Business District over rent arrears on Tuesday.

The caretakers of Lonrho House had called in auctioneers to attach the property of JAB Orengo Advocates over unpaid rent but later called off the move after the firm paid some of the arrears.

The firm is linked to Lands minister James Orengo.

Sources told Capital News that the law firm’s rent arrears amounts to millions of shillings.

Furniture that had already been removed from the premises was returned after the law firm paid the arrears during the 3pm incident.

This is not the first time that auctioneers have been called to intervene over rent arrears involving the law firm.
