Costly affair for coveting man’s wife

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 2 – Police in Nairobi are looking for a suspect who allegedly stabbed another man to death after he caught him in bed with his wife.

The incident occurred at Murandi estate in Embakasi on Wednesday night.

According to the police, the man went home on Wednesday night only to find his wife with another man in their bedroom, prompting a commotion.

"A man aged 33 years was caught in bed with somebody\’s wife by the husband. He was stabbed on the stomach and died as he tried to run away," Nairobi Provincial Police chief Antony Kibuchi said.

The police chief said the woman and neighbours had recorded statements with the police at the Embakasi police station.

Police are now looking for the woman\’s husband to face charges of murder, Mr Kibuchi said.

This event is similar to another that happened on Tuesday night in Kibera where a man was also stabbed to death after he found him walking with his wife.

Mr Kibuchi said the man in Kibera was beaten by a mob and seriously wounded before he was taken to the Kenyatta National Hospital where he is admitted under police guard.

Police said they will press charges against him once he is discharged.

In Pangani, a man aged 20 years fell off the 11th floor of a building and died on the spot on Wednesday. Police said they were investigating circumstances that led to the fatal fall.

In a separate incident, passengers lynched two suspected gangsters who had carjacked their public service vehicle.

The incident occurred at the Utalii drift on Thika road on Wednesday night.

According to police, the two young men aged between 25 and 30 years armed with toy pistols had posed as passengers before they turned out to be robbers.

During the commotion, the driver lost control of the matatu which landed in a ditch but no one was hurt.
