Former NTV reporter murdered

NAIROBI, Kenya, May 2 – A former NTV reporter has been found murdered in her house in Umoja\’s Innercore area.

Ms Kabiru who worked for NTV until 2008 was found dead in the bedroom after her brother broke the door out of curiosity at about 8pm only to find the body.

Police are now looking for her husband, also a former staffer at the Nation Media Group to explain what may have happened since he left the home earlier in the day.

According to Fredrick Adinga, an uncle to the husband, efforts to reach him have been futile.

"When the mother called me, I immediately tried to reach him. His phone was really busy. I tried almost five times, the phone was really busy. Immediately I tried his phone went off, around 8.30(evening), his phone went off completely."

The house girl was left with their two year old baby by the husband, telling her that the baby\’s mother would be back soon.  The housewife held the baby during the day oblivious of the murder crime that had happened in the bedroom.

According to Kevin Chege, the caretaker of the flat where she lived, he saw the husband to the late Ms Kabiru just passing by in the evening on that fateful day.

"Mimi nilikua tu hapa, hiyo mchana mzima nilikuwa tu hapa. Masaa ya six,  nikaona huyo mwenye hiyo nyumba akipita pita hapa." ( Yesterday I was here the whole day, and around six I saw the husband to the late (Kabiru)  just passing by around here.)

Mr Chege, further says that the couple seemed happily in love and did not appear to have problems.

"Naonanga wakiwa wamependana juu walikuwa wanafanya kila kitu wakiwa pamoja." (They have always seemed in love and did everything together.)
