Forbes editor rates Kirubi highly

NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 21 – A recent Forbes Magazine blog listed Kenyan industrialist Chris Kirubi among the top 20 most powerful people in the African business scene, citing the newly amalgamated Haco Tiger Brands, as one of  his interests with a regional reach.

Apart from holding shares in a myriad of blue chip companies and chairing various boards, the writer Mfonobong Nsehe, missed one detail that could be credited with propelling Mr Kirubi to the next level of recognition. He is fast becoming a media mogul and Capital Group affirms this.

“Social media is providing companies, societies, countries and indeed the globe with forums to actively engage the youth in building economies and formulating policies that shape the world and we must be on the cutting edge,” said Mr Kirubi in one of his staff meetings at the media house.

With the exponential growth of multi and social media in Kenya and Africa at large, Mr Kirubi will undoubtedly continue to ‘rock it’ as the youth would say.

Unlike many businessmen of his stature, Mr Kirubi takes time out to update his Facebook status and Tweet his followers. He engages those he interacts with on business, personal issues and mentors the youth.
