NYAHURURU, Kenya, Oct 27 – A man died after he was allegedly sodomised and his private parts chopped off at Mwangaza village in Subukia area of Nakuru County.
James Wanderi, 32, succumbed to the injuries while undergoing treatment at the Nyahururu District Hospital early on Wednesday.
According to Subukia civic leader Kiriethe Ndigirigi who rushed the victim to the hospital, Mr Wanderi was walking home on Tuesday night when he was accosted by a gang of seven men at Mwangaza trading center.
They roughed him up and stole his mobile phone and money before committing the heinous act.
“They took him to a nearby bush where they sexually assaulted him before chopping off his private parts and fled in the darkness,” he said.
The civic leader noted that villagers found the man writhing in pain in the morning and took him to hospital.
“It was after they noticed blood trickling from his private parts that they realised that they had been chopped off,” he noted.
A nurse at the hospital who declined to be named said that Mr Wanderi was pronounced dead moments after ha had been attended to and attributed it to excessive bleeding.
“He had bled so much. He had just narrated to us of the painful ordeal before he died. It was a pathetic story,” she said.
Nakuru Deputy Police boss Mathias Guyo also confirmed the incident saying police in the area had launched investigations. He urged the public to assist in the probe.
The incident occurred barely two weeks after another man was allegedly sodomised by a gang of five at Kwa Ndatho farm in Subukia.
The councilor urged the government to deploy more security personnel in the town regretting that violent crime rate was now on the rise.
