NAKURU, Kenya, Jan 7 – Laikipia West District Commissioner Javans Ombaso Sagero was on Thursday charged before a Nakuru court with faudulently disposing off public property worth Sh8.75 million.
The property was from the Ministry of Special Programmes and was cash meant for payment of government support to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
The administrator who was represented by five lawyers was charged that they committed the offence on March 10 last year in Molo town together with a nother person, not before the court.
Mr Sagero who appeared before principal magistrate John King\’ori denied committing the offence and was released on a Sh2 million bond with a surety of a similar amount. He was given an alternative of a Sh1 million cash bail.
The matter will be heard on February 17.
