TPF final five on trial

NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 6 – Despite a spirited show on Sunday all the remaining five Tusker Project Fame contestants are on probation.

Its been seven weeks so far and Alpha, Caroline, Maureen, Ng’ang’a and Patricia will have to keep squeezing more out of themselves to make it this weekend.

Sunday’s theme was African.

Alpha seemed to be at home with Lucky Dube’s hit song ‘Different Colours.’ Caroline was commended by Principal Achieng’ Abura for her energetic African dance moves as she performed Brenda Fassie’s ‘Vulindlela.’

Maureen vindicated the faculty’s decision to save her on Saturday by putting up a powerful performance of Yvonne Chaka Chaka’s ‘Umkombotsi.’ Ng’ang’a meanwhile managed a smile and commendation from evil Judge Ian with his mellow rendition of Wyre’s ‘Chuki’.

Patricia took the cup – in my opinion – and her rendition of Mafikizolo’s ‘Ndi Hamba Nawe’ was met with roaring applause.

Though some performances stood out stronger than others, the judges opted to put all five contestants on probation this week, and leave their fate in the hands of the public.

So you need to vote! Voting lines are open all week until mid-night Friday. The contestant with the least votes from the public will leave the Academy on Saturday night.

And speaking of Saturdays, last week’s eviction party for Leah was very well attended at the Carnivore. She was sad to go but the fans’ support gave her a big boost on that night. Good luck!

The contest ends in a fortnight where the winner will walk away with a Sh5 million and a recording contract among other goodies.
