Ethiopia prepares for possible swine flu

ADDIS ABABA, April 29 – Ethiopia announced it had formed a team of health experts to deal with the possible emergence of swine flu.

The task force comprises the public health ministry’s emergency management unit and the World Health Organisation, the health ministry said in a statement.

"The task force will keep addressed of all the international swine flu outbreak and its progression," it said.

No cases have been reported in the Horn of Africa country, home to some 80 million people.

More than 150 people are believed to have died from the virus in Mexico, the epicentre of the disease.

Confirmed cases have been reported in half a dozen other nations and suspected infections are under investigation in many more.
