Mwamba seeded top for Christie sevens

NAIROBI, October 21- National Sevens rugby circuit leaders Mwamba are again top seeds for this weekend’s Christie Sevens to be held at the Rugby Football Union of East Africa (RFUEA) grounds.

Mwamba who won the Driftwood Sevens in Mombasa on Sunday have been drawn in Pool A which also has Mean Machine, Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA) and Methodist University.
 
Mwamba lead the circuit standings with 50 points and could clinch the overall title as well as the Sh200,000 prize money if the reach the semifinals this weekend.

Pool B will feature a rematch between Strathmore University and Impala who met in the quarter finals of last week’s tournament with Strathmore pulling off one of the shock results of the tournament so far beating the former circuit champions 10-5.

Impala have slipped to third in the standings with 28 points after their quarter final exit in Mombasa.

Daystar and Moi Universities make up the rest of the pool which is expected to be a two horse race.

Driftwood semi finalists Nakuru are in Pool C where they have been drawn alongside Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), Kenyatta University Blak Blad and Catholic University.

Nondies and Kenya Harlequins promises to be another intriguing clash in Pool D with United States International University (USIU) and Nazarene University making up the numbers.

Masinde Muliro University, Kenya Polytechnic, Harlequins II and Impala II have been put on standby.
