This year’s White Cap Nairobi Polo season had a total of 31 teams participants. The first series of the White Cap Nairobi Polo tournament attracted 14 teams across East Africa and saw Energy source scoop the White Cap “Mugs Mug Cap” with spectacular play from the likes of Tiva Gross, Tarquin Gross, Craig Miller and Sacha Craig.

Nairobi Polo Club Chairman, Raphael Nzomo said “It has been a very good polo season, with teams from across East Africa competing in the tournaments and we have had a lot of talent playing. I’d like to thank East African Breweries for sponsoring this year’s Polo season through their premium brand White Cap and we look forward to next season.”

Polo originated in China and Persia, 2000 years ago. Polo requires two teams of 4 players each mounted on horseback to play the game. There are lightweight goalposts on each side of the field spread eight yards apart. The object of the game is to score the most goals by hitting the ball through the goal. A polo game has periods of play, known as chukkas.
