NAIROBI, September 12 – Nakuru Athletic Club is the setting for this weekend’s pick of Enterprise Cup duels which pits hosts Nakuru against Impala.
Impala head into Saturday’s encounter with a spring in their step having beaten arch rivals and Kenya Cup champions Kenya Harlequins 33-31 in a mighty arm wrestle last weekend.
Frank Ndong and Paul Oimbo will be at the forefront of Impala’s forward onslaught to create space for their backs who include national sevens captain Innocent Simiyu, his brother Nato and inside centre Moses Molwe.
Nakuru, who finished fourth in the Kenya Cup, will be relying on Kenya utility back Vincent Mose and forward Ferdinand Ngaira to lead by example if they are to contain the red shirts.
Nondies are another side who will be looking to build on last weekend’s impressive win when they play Mean Machine at the University of Nairobi grounds.
Paul Odera’s side finished a dismal second from bottom in the Kenya Cup but resuscitated their season with an emphatic 49-26 victory over Ugandan side UTL Kobs at Jamhuri Park.
Nondies attack will revolve around Biko Adema and full back Jay Williams who has been in imperious kicking form this season.
Last year’s finalists Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) travel to the coast to play Mombasa Sports Club who were granted a walkover over Tanzania Twigas.
The bankers are still smarting from their loss of the Kenya Cup to Quins a couple of weekends ago and head into this encounter as overwhelming favourites against a Mombasa side that finished last in this year’s Kenya Cup.

Pirates were granted a walkover last weekend over Strathmore University after the college failed to show up in Kampala.
The Makadara based institution will still head into battle this weekend at the RFUEA grounds where they will face this year’s Eric Shirley runners up Quins II in the Mwamba Cup.
KCB II host Nakuru RFC at the KCB sports club in Ruaraka while Nondies II hope to emulate their senior side when they meet Mwamba II at Jamhuri.
