Squash open back with new sponsor

NAIROBI, August 6 – The Kenya Squash Racket Association [K.S.R.A] has acquired a new title sponsors, Zain Kenya, after a two year lull for the annual Kenya Open Squash Tournament.

Speaking to the press at Parklands Sports Club, the Managing Director of Zain Kenya, Rene Meza, gave the Kenya squash association Sh800, 000 sponsorship package for the tournament scheduled for November.

“We will be part of this event sponsoring the Zain Kenya Open Squash Tournament and continue supporting the squash game in Kenya since it is very popular,” he said.

Present at the sponsorship presentation, was the chairperson of KSRA Lillian Wanjira who said the event will be held in November having been sanctioned by the professional squash association.

“The Kenya squash racket association wishes to announce that it has made a come back after a two year absence to take part in the Zain Kenya tournament that will take place in November,” Wanjira said.

The tournament will showcase other professionals from Egypt, Italy and Zambia.

Zain’s Communication Director Mike Okwiri said the partnership with KSRA will focus on scouting talents from the grassroots level so that young talent can participate in squash games and other related sporting activities.

“We will have to scout for more young talent to compete in squash and other sports like rugby and soccer,” Okwiri said.
