BEIJING, August 9 – Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has announced that Kenya will consider bidding to host the 2028 Olympic Games.
Musyoka said the bid would be in line with Vision 2030, when the country is expected to have attained the status of a developed nation.
Musyoka asked the Minister for Sports and Youth Prof. Hellen Sambili to liaise with her Land’s counterpart James Orengo to acquire more property around the Moi Sports Complex – Kasarani for expansion.
He regretted that no African country had hosted the games yet the continent is an active member of the Olympics
family.
The Vice President made the remarks while addressing Kenyans living in China at a dinner party.
The Vice President who is leading Kenya’s delegation to China said the Olympic hosts had identified Kenya as the leading business partner in Africa.
He also lauded China for her assistance during the post-poll crisis in Kenya.
Among those present was Kenya’s Ambassador to China Ruth Solitei.
