2nd edition of Subaru Fest set for July

Posted on June 29, 2012 by Capital Motors

(Laura Walubengo) Boys and girls who call themselves Subaru die-hards will have a chance to connect again this year at the second edition of Subaru Fest on July 28.

From 10am to 6pm that day all wannabe rally drivers and generally lovers of that car will get the opportunity to ‘baru-watch’ or take part in a host of motor-sporting activities to test their skill against other fans.

Subaru Kenya is the main host for the event, which will include free diagnostics, free shock simulator, free light tester and buffing and a mini-service at a minimal charge.

Other activities to distract car lovers at the venue will be the bikini car-wash, obstacle car race, a kiddies corner, spare parts at bargain rates and of course plenty of food and drink.

Subaru Kenya are expected to use the occasion to show off their new model XV, which has a price tag of Sh4m plus!

According to the car company, this model is a ‘super-car’ and a merger of all the things they’ve ever done right in their cars over the years.

So if you have a Subaru and are looking to show it off and win a prize in the process, get on to our Facebook page and post pictures of your cars and their various talents in order to win fabulous awards.

Subaru Kenya will also be sponsoring 2 categories i.e. Best Time – Sh30,000 + 1 intermediate service, and Best Engine – Sh15,000 + 1 minor service.

Last year’s event was held at the Ngong Race Course, and because of the rain, the mud had come out to play. Do you want more rain this year?

Nice show last year but i had issue with the diagnostics which to me was bordering on fake for luck of a better word, case in point their diagnosis on my car(impreza) was that all my sensors were dysfunctional while even some of the sensors they mentioned do not even exist in my car, secondly it didn’t even detect the transmission problem i was experiencing at that time.
I had to seek a second opinion (diagnostics included) on comparison we started out by having a good laugh, the rest is history.
My request is kindly have serious professionals do the diagnostics till the end of show/promotion,maybe they were exhausted by the time they were having a look at mine.
Looking forward to a more improved show this time with enough time to have a serious and comprehensive diagnostics.
