If ever there was a fashion term that made me chuckle, it’s this right here: bum bag. Also known as a fanny pack if you happen to lean more towards American English.

As a kid, I remember going on trips with my family having strapped this little pouch round my waist containing no more than a few shillings, a lip balm and a sweet or two (most likely KSL – talk about a throwback).

No doubt that these were a great fashion statement in the ‘80s and ‘90s and for the most part, bum bags were a big hit amongst tourists.

Fast-forward to 2017 and these little pouches have found their way onto red carpets, popular fashion blogs and even Kim Kardashian’s infamous waist.

Surprisingly, many luxury brands have brought this casual, hands-free bag into stock including Louis Vuitton, Gucci and even Chanel, drawing many celebrities into this trend.

Typically these little pouches are worn round your hips/waist but to put a spin on things, some fashion icons have worn them across their shoulders too. Because, why not.
