Annual search for World’s Bartender of the Year kicks-off in Mexico

Kenya’s 2017 Bartender of the Year, Kelvin Kamau of Capital Club East Africa, is currently in Mexico City, where the world’s best bartenders from 56 countries are competing in the world championships of mixology, the Diageo Reserve World Class Global Final.

Kelvin first started off in the hospitality industry working as a bar back. Despite not having access to training at a bar school in Kenya, Kelvin researched and developed new skills and techniques through online articles and watching YouTube videos. Since then, he’s joined the prestigious Capital Club, a member-only establishment in Nairobi.

If you’d like to watch the greatest mixology competition in the world and cheer on Kenya’s best bartender, Kelvin, head to the live broadcast at https://www.theworldclassclub.com/livestream
