6 Year Old From Nanyuki Heads to Japan

Toyota Motor Corporation announced a total of 30 award winners at the World Contest of “The 11th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest” in which children drew their “dream car.”

Noel Bariki Oyoo, aged 6, who lives in Nanyuki in Kenya, will represent the country during the award ceremony after being selected as one of the award winners.

Oyoo, raised by a single mother and his grandfather, had a dream. He dreamt of a Trojan Horse Car, envisioned to help protect the good cultures of the world from disappearing so as to allow young people to learn from them.

The 6 year old wins an all-expenses-paid trip to Toyota City, Japan, and participates in an awards ceremony, which includes a tour of the Toyota manufacturing plant and gets to interact with other children from all around the world sharing ideas on future dream cars. Oyoo together with other award winners will be visiting Japan in August, accompanied by their parents or guardians, and will participate in a hands-on programs introducing Japanese culture and manufacturing for a week.
