Yesterday evening saw Mr. and Mrs. Jaffer’s guests watch the exclusive premier of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them” at the brand new IMAX theater which just opened its doors at the Garden City Mall along the Thika Superhighway.

The new IMAX Theater which is under the Century Cinemax group of cinemas brings to two the number of IMAX theaters in the country. Kenya still remains the only country with an IMAX theater in Eastern Africa.

IMAX, which is an acronym for Image Maximum boasts the capacity to record and display images of far greater size and resolution. An IMAX screen is approximately 17 x 9 meters which makes it equal to thirteen 51” plasma screens in one hence making the digital experience  from an IMAX projection that much more exhilarating with its crystal clear images. The IMAX projection system also boasts an avant-garde digital sound giving the consumer a unique experience.

At the opening of the movie theater, Mrs. Shafina Jaffer (CEO of Century Cinemax group of cinemas) explained that they chose Garden City as the home of the new IMAX theater as they saw the mall as the perfect fit  as it will now give customers of the mall the “complete mall experience”.
