In the image above Apple CEO Tim Cook discusses the soon-to-be-released iOS10 Apple Music update at a special Apple launch event held in the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco on Wednesday, with South African musicians: Lira, Beatenberg, Majozi & Arno Carstens’ recently released album artworks on display (amongst others) in the background.

Says Lira, “It was really exciting to be featured on Apple Music’s presentation during the launch of their iPhone 7.  I’ve personally benefitted from the platform as I was able to launch my album Born Free worldwide on March 25 earlier this year. It’s given me the platform to make my music available to fans across the world”.

Majozi also commented, “Being both a long time Apple user and musician, it was probably one of the most surreal and humbling moments in my life. It was cool to see my album artwork being displayed on such a grand stage alongside some of my heroes like Chance The Rapper and Mumford & Sons. So grateful to whoever made it happen👍”.

Robin Brink of Beatenberg added, “Wow. Seeing our work featured at the Apple Keynote Address is yet another reminder that South African Music is having a significant impact on the global music scene.”

And finally Arno Carstens contributed “Seeing my product up there with all those fantastic artists was a surprise, encouraging and a thrill all at the same time! It’s fantastic to be counted amongst these artists as I get ready to release my new full length Afrikaans album ‘Die Aandblom 13’”.
