5 simple tips on packing like a pro!

packing tips 2

There’s nothing like the excitement of a good holiday coming up to get you through the week. But sometimes we may get a little too excited, especially when it comes to packing.

One thing leads to another and before you know it, you’re packing your dungarees from high school just in case you end up getting invited to an 80s-themed party and need the perfect outfit.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is the beginning of a disaster.

Here are 5 tips that should help you next time you’re packing for a holiday.

  1. Pre-select your outfits.

If you want to be super efficient, you’re going to have to put a little more time and effort into your packing. This means putting together outfits from top to bottom – that way you don’t end up with 10 pairs of shoes, three tops and only one skirt. If need be, lay each outfit on the floor and take a picture to help you remember each pairing.

  1. Decanting is there to help you.

Forget about carrying your 200ml toner or moisturizer. Grab some small, empty containers at your local store and decant these products into the smaller bottles. Not only will it save space in your bag, but it’s also safer just in case the product ends up spilling. This will come in handy with your moisturizer, cleanser, toner, supplements etc. If you don’t need to carry the whole thing, decant.

  1. Roll, Roll, Roll

Want to save even more space in your suitcase? Roll your clothes, don’t fold. Also helps stop any creasing. You can thank me later.

  1. Keep your precious stones close.

We’ve all heard of (or worse, experienced) the occasional break-in at airports in which your favourite perfume, necklace or top goes missing from your bag. Do not put your valuable jewellery in your check-in suitcase. Instead, find a cute jewellery organizer and pack it in your carry-on.

  1. Better safe than sorry.

Sure, you don’t anticipate any nasty flus or aches while on your trip but I’d definitely recommend packing some painkillers and vitamins just in case. They may come in handy the morning after a wild night or if you feel yourself getting allergies or unwanted sniffles.

Bonus Tip* – You know that really cute dress you’ve been dying to wear but never had the chance to? That lil’ freakum dress as Beyonce likes to put it? Well here’s your chance to rock it. It might come in handy in case your invited to a random party but even if nothing comes up, just wear it anyway! After all, every holiday needs a rock star moment so go forth and rock it ladies and gents.

Happy packing!
