Miss India Worldwide Kenya to compete at Silver Jubilee Worldwide Pageant

This year’s Miss India Worldwide Kenya winner will be representing the country in the upcoming Silver Jubilee Worldwide Pageant held in New York City.

At the press conference held at the newly opened Concord Hotel in Parklands, Nairobi on Saturday, 14th of May 2016, Miss India Worldwide Kenya 2016 was officially launched by the Guest of Honor, Deputy High Commissioner to India in Kenya, Honorable Mr. Rajesh Swami.

The glamorous Miss India Worldwide Pageant for Kenya is set to take place on Saturday, 4th June 2016. Produced by the IFC, a pioneer organization in conducting Indian pageants and fashion shows in the USA and worldwide, Miss India Worldwide follows a long heritage of pageants such as the Miss India New York and the Miss India USA Pageants, which have been conducted annually since 1980.

Close to 30 participants will be competing for the Kenyan crown this year. The competitors will go through a professional training from the 16th of May to the 1st of June, which  includes Choreography, Grooming, Pageant Walking and specialized workshops – Make Up Training on the 28th of May done by Madora with the upscale Paris-based line, Black Up, which is known for its range of professional-quality makeup.

“Last year, I represented Kenya at the Miss India Worldwide 2015 finals in Mumbai. Being able to represent my country on an international platform was an absolute honor. I was able to represent the Indian in me while proudly being Kenyan,” the outgoing Miss India Kenya Aliza Rajan shared. “I fell in love with the pageant world ever since I participated, it’s incredible and it made me realize that it’s not all about beauty but rather about being a role model, giving back to the community and most importantly, being proud of your culture and background.”

The Miss India Worldwide Kenya Pageant will be supporting, The Women 4 Cancer Initiative, raising awareness of the benefits of early testing, facilitate early detection and treatment to reduce the prevalence of cancer.
