Core Fashion Week to launch fashion Installation Mixer in Nairobi

The Core Fashion Week, a new platform promoting Kenyan fashion design and skills development within the local industry to internationally recognized standards, is set to launch its first Installation Mixer at Nairobi’s Tribe Hotel, on Friday.

The second of a series of events hosted by The Conclave Kenya, the Installation Mixer will showcase pieces from various designers as well as hair and make-up by some of Kenya’s best. The event seeks to bring together key stakeholders in the fashion industry and will play host to societal influencers, glamorous fashionistas and notable personalities.

Some of the designers showing their pieces at the much-anticipated Installation Mixer include Katungulu, Deepa, Sally Karago, Anyango Mpinga, Nike Kondakis, urban pieces by Ziko Africa, Aprelle Duany, Kepha Maina and apparel and accessories by Adele Dejak. Make-up will be provided by the support of Kenya’s Suzie Beauty, Wacuka Thimba, Sinitta whilst hair will be directed by Joey Richard.

In developing retail opportunities, international partnerships and strong media content, as well as generating skill acquisition, The Core aims to equip the local industry with the competitive edge necessary to hold its own in the global fashion marketplace.

The invite-only event will be the first of its kind in the country, and will focus and combine efforts of local fashion industry players.
