A fugitive sent police a selfie mugshot because of the “terrible” photograph they released of him.

Donald ‘Chip’ Pugh felt the picture that Lima Police Department in Ohio, US, circulated in his local area made him look like “James Brown on the run.”

He said: “Man, they just did me wrong. They put a picture out that made me look like I was a Thundercat… I can’t do that.”

A message posted on the station’s Facebook page thanked Mr Pugh for getting in touch, but stated: “This photo was sent to us by Mr. Pugh himself. We thank him for being helpful, but now we would appreciate it if he would come speak to us at the LPD about his charges.”

Chip is wanted for missing a court appearance and for questioning in a case related to arson and vandalism.

Donald "Chip" Pugh was arrested Tuesday morning in Century, Florida.
